Class Lunch Focus: NAVY SPORTS

Seventeen USNA 1966 Classmates and Guests met on July 8th at The Fleet Reserve Club in Annapolis for the July 2026 Class Luncheon.
The Guest Speaker, Mike Kelly, President of the Naval Academy Athletic Association and Director of Athletics, joined us for the reception at 1130 and a delicious buffet lunch at 1200.
Carson Talbot from NAAA also attended and assisted with the presentation.
Mike Kelly gave a highly informative overview of NAAA with well-prepared slides and interesting comments.
He identified the Midshipmen who have earned honors with the Atlantic Conference in football, baseball, and other sports.
He also pointed out that the Naval Academy supports 36 Varsity Sports and is one of only six other universities in the country that support 36 or more Varsity Sports.
Mike also plays key roles in the College Football Playoffs and NCAA committees, as well as sports in general. He received an Honorary Doctorate from St. Thomas University and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of South Florda.
